Feature: Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem (Connecticut). Start with fiddle, guitar, and a standup bass. Add a cardboard box with a suitcase bass drum and tin can cymbals, played by an ex-rock and zydeco drummer. Over a mighty fine groove, hang Rani Arbo's bewitching, expressive alto, seamless four-part harmonies, and a splash of banjo and ukulele, and you have daisy mahem. Rani’s swampy, self-taught fiddling draws from swing, blues, and old-time music. Andrew Kinsey provides a rich, compelling baritone, generous spirit, and rock-solid bass playing. Anand Nayak is a powerful singer/songwriter with a rare gift for arranging and a gutsy guitar style that draws from a century's worth of jazz, funk, blues and folk masters. Drummer Scott Kessel, pilots the "Drumship Enterprise," - the recycled drum kit comprised of unlikely items including cat food tins, and a Danish butter cookie tin. What fun and delight!
Opener: After the Storm, The Calgary Folk Club House Band.
