Event Description:

Leadbeater's welded 12 foot high steel scupture in vibrant primary colours was placed at the site in 1989. The toy-like piece is intended to bring light-hearted pleasure to passersby who work in and visit the municipal building and visitors to the Triangle Art Gallery.

In March, Balancing Act got a major facelift including re-welding of a missing piece, rust removal, cleanup and new paint.

Balancing Act is just one of  many public art pieces in the downtown core owned and cared for by The City of Calgary. These artworks offer viewers everything from traditional to contemporary art. There are three Leadbeater pieces in the City's collection; the other two are featured in the Downton Public Art Circuit.
