Chinook Country Historical Society proudly presents Historic Calgary Week. We invite everyone to follow our Trails and Tales by attending over 50 exciting informative events.
During these 11 days of summer, we will experience talks, walks, concerts, visits to museums, celebrations for the whole family and a gigantic Calgary Herald cross word puzzle contest based on local history. Some milestones that are being celebrated include centennials of City Hall, Bowness, the Old Y and Mount Royal University.
Most of the events are free for the public, however donations are appreciated. Because of limited space, some events require online pre-registration before July 20. Payment is required for the Lougheed House Cocktails with the Curator at 7:00 on Thursday July 28. The August 1 the 11:00 talk "From Mounties to Metropolis" is free and is in the free area of Heritage Park, but if you wish to go into Heritage Park for the other Heritage Day festivities, admission is required.
All of these details are in the online brochure which is available on the website. Printed brochures are also available when you visit libraries, historic organizations, the City Hall information kiosk and various other places.
