Event Description:

REVOLUTION IS NIGH!!
STRIDE’S SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISER FEBRUARY 19, 2010 8PM – MIDNIGHT

Did you know that February 19th is a very Revolutionary day?  In 1473 it was the birthday of Nicolaus Copernicus, the man who rocked the world with the discovery that Earth actually revolves around the sun, and not the other way around.  On February 19th in 1878 Thomas Edison received the patent for his Phonograph, grandfather to the record player.  And on February 19 in 2010, we invite you to consider Revolution in all its possible forms for Stride’s Silent Auction Fundraiser.
Donations of Revolutionary artworks or related services will be accepted from Tuesday, February 9 through Wednesday, February 17 during regular gallery hours (Tuesday through Saturday, 11-5pm), with extended hours on Wednesday, February 17th for last minute drop-offs until 7pm.  Donated artworks can be of any reasonable size (max 36”x36” or so), and any medium(s).  Please ensure that your work is accompanied by the Donation Form available online.  Artists donating works for the Silent Auction will receive a tax receipt for the final sale amount and a complimentary one-year Friendship with Stride.
For more information about donating an artwork or art-related service, to download a Donation Form, or to find out more about the upcoming Fundraiser event, please visit  http://www.stride.ab.ca/  or call 403 262 8507.
