“A stylishly executed tale of paranoia” – The Australian
“Dark, primitive and very exciting” – Daily Express
A road trip into the agoraphobia and desolation of the Australian outback result in a terrifying ride into the world of a couple who break down in the middle of nowhere and find that their greatest danger is not their isolation. Situated within the minds of its three performers, roadkill explores their fears and twisted perceptions of the landscape and its dangers. Interlaced with these fears are urban myths, backpacker deaths, thirst, love, distrust and the harsh loneliness of the bush.
Splintergroup is a flexible and collaborative group whose membership varies. The company was nominated for "Outstanding Performance by a Company" for roadkill at the 2008 Australian Dance Awards. In the 2007 Australian Dance Critics' Survey, Splintergroup and roadkill were nominated seven times, including "Best New Work" and "Highlight of the Year."
